Bryan Kohl

UX/UI. Art/Creative Direction. Maker of Things.

Now, I know what you’re probably thinking:
Art Director? Wow, that sounds amazing! Tell me more!
And I will, but only because you asked nicely.

It all begins with a passion for creative problem solving.

As cliché as it sounds, this is perhaps the most vital trait an AD can possess. Everyday we find ourselves thrown into the metaphorical “deep end”, tasked with the seemingly impossible: to emerge with a winning idea, in spite of numerous requirements and/or limitations. Are we ALL masochists? Perhaps. But I’d prefer to think that we just LOVE a challenge!

What else is required to succeed?

Besides a maniacal attention to detail? Someone who is dependable, innovative, flexible, adaptable, persistent, cooperative, supportive and (above all) a leader.

How does that translate into real world results?

As a graphic artist with over a decade of professional experience delivering top-notch creative solutions, I can attest to the importance of the above traits and the crucial role they play in getting the job done “right”. This is a profession that requires more than just technical expertise, or a knowledge of design programs or programming languages. It is a career which is dependent upon a multidisciplinary approach, one which fuses marketing strategy with compelling creative to solve business problems and drive opportunities worldwide.

Which areas do you specialize in?
Strategy_Research

Strategy & Research.

Pretty pictures are great, but effective communication comes from doing one’s homework.

Print_Web_Apparel

Print, Web & Apparel.

You name it, I’ve done it, and have done it well. Peruse my portfolio for examples of how I can bring your brand to life.

Identity_Brand

Identity & Brand.

Branding is an artform. Anyone can find clipart, it takes a true pro to develop a logo that is unique to you and your business.

Management_Leadership

Management & Leadership.

I’ve run studios and wrangled cats (read: clients). Proper design comes from co-operation and a well-mentored machine.

See some examples of the brands and companies that I’ve had the pleasure of working with below.

Sounds great, but how do you keep the fire burning?

When not designing, or focusing on strategy, I enjoy hunting for treasures at local antique fairs & thrift stores, with the intent of revitalizing them for resale.
